Be flexible!
stretch your body, yes, but stretch your imagination, too. The weather contributes to a great day on the mountain. Tahoe is awesome because we overwhelmingly experience modest temps, not the icy cold of other areas. extreme weather is always possible: zero-visibility storms, relentless blizzards, thrashing winds. Be prepared!
Great! You're at the resort, on the chair lift. You're living in a postcard, snow covered trees, vistas for miles, lovely trails. And then it happens.
What am I doing here?
It is in this moment of panic that your logical, analytical, thinking brain -- the part of you that resides in the present moment -- recedes and the emotional, reactive, "what if . . ." brain takes control.
Your logical brain sees people enjoying the snow, successfully riding the chairlift, unloading, and gliding down the slope with ease.
Your emotional brain has you believing that the chairlift terminates in a viper pit and if you survive that you will surely find yourself catapulted down the mountain ending up torn and bloody in the parking lot.
Take a deep breath. Let logic rule. There are no tigers. You are safe in the present moment. Stay present.
skiing is fun! I’ll help you learn.
You don't have to be an excellent skier to have an excellent day skiing.
